Terms of Use

These terms set out the conditions for using the game "Roadvania" (the game at roadvania.tarp.tokyo and the official site roadvania.com; "the Game"), provided by tarp.tokyo ("we"). By using the Game you agree to these terms. If you are a minor, please read them with a parent or guardian before playing.

1. Price

The Game is free to play. There are no ads and no way to pay real money in the Game.

2. Made for all ages

• The Game is designed so that everyone can play it with peace of mind, at any age.
• It contains no violent content, no content about specific religions, ideologies or politics, and no material that infringes the rights of others.
• Shops and places in the Game are shown by type ("Supermarket", "Tackle shop" and so on); real shop names, logos and products are not used.
• If you find anything that concerns you, please tell us through Support and we will look into it.

3. RV and compensation codes

• RV are points used only inside the Game. They are not real money and cannot be exchanged or traded for money, points of other services, or goods.
• Compensation codes are issued at our discretion to make up for losses caused by problems. They work only for the user ID they were issued to and cannot be given or sold to others.

4. Save data

• Your save is stored only in the browser of the device you play on; we do not keep it on our servers.
• If your save is lost because browser data was cleared, the device broke, or similar, we cannot restore it. We recommend keeping a transfer code as a backup. If it was lost because of a problem in the Game, we may help with a compensation code.
• The Game is a public beta. Updates may change how it plays and in-game values such as prices and rewards.

5. Play safely

• Do not use the Game while walking, cycling or driving.
• Roads, places and shops in the Game come from map data. Whether they are passable, open to the public or in business is not guaranteed. In-game items and prices have nothing to do with real shops.
• When you go out for real, follow local laws, rules and signs.

6. Videos, streams and screenshots

• You are free to publish videos, streams and screenshots of yourself playing the Game, including monetized ones. No need to ask first. If you can, please mention "Roadvania".
• Please do not take parts of the Game and distribute them as another game or service, or publish anything in a way that could be mistaken for official material from us.

7. Prohibited

• Unauthorized access or attacks on our servers
• Putting heavy load on our servers or the place search, for example with automated programs
• Requesting compensation with tampered save data or false information
• Copying or modifying the Game's programs, images and so on to redistribute, republish or sell them
• Impersonating us or anyone else
• Anything illegal or against public order, or that bothers other people

8. Rights

• The rights to the parts original to the Game, such as its programs, design and text, belong to us.
• Third-party map data, emoji, program libraries and so on are used under their own licenses (listed below). Map data is provided under the OpenStreetMap license (ODbL), and these terms do not limit any rights granted by that license.

9. Limitation of liability

• The Game is provided as is, without any guarantee that it works, is accurate, or fits a particular purpose.
• We may change or stop the Game without notice.
• We are not liable for damages arising from use of the Game (including effects of outages or changes in external map servers or the place search), except where we acted intentionally or with gross negligence.

10. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when needed. The updated terms take effect when posted on this page.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute about the Game shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan as the court of first instance.
